Now in his 25th year, Frank continues to lead by his example. At 66 years of age he is a starting pitcher for his Division II Thunder Alley team, and also continues into his second year of managing the Fritz Stray Cats which was the team formed from Clinic Day last year. The "Cats" had such a great time last year that ALL of them have returned for another season together. This is no small success, and one that Frank should be proud of, having made such a positive impact on these new players! Frank has done this kind of thing for years, this is only his latest admirable effort which has been so positive for the BSL! ALL of those returning young players who were inspired by Franks spirit last year will most certainly carry on that spirit again this season and into many BSL seasons to come! What could be any more valuable than that?

As a player ...
A spry 66, Frank has maintained an uncanny ability to perform at a high level on the pitcher's mound. As a coach, it's wonderful to know that you have a loyal pitcher who is able to perform at a high level game in and game out. Given his age, it is truly amazing how Frank is able to play not just in the Beantown Softball League but in Ricky Sylvia League and the Cardinal League in Dorchester.

As a teammate ...
Over the years, Frank has grown into his roll as senior statesman and continues to provide strong support to his team, his teammates and his league. He is generous with his time and encourages all around him to be the best they can. He picks people up when they down and keeps an even keel when things are going well.

As an executive committee member ...
Frank has been a regular Executive Committee member over the past seven years, representing Mike's Gym, Alley Gators and Thunder Alley. He has provided valuable input in a number of areas and served as a liaison between the league and his teammates.

As a manager ...
In a truly unselfish act, Frank volunteered to coach the league's clinic day team in 2009 and again this year. Made up of 15 new players, Frank is working to teach them the fundamentals of the game while at the same time providing a wonderful example of sportsmanship and commitment to team. Frank also worked to secure sponsorship for the new team.

Individually, these are many small acts. Collectively, over a 25 year career, they signal Frank's passion for softball – especially the Beantown Softball League and his teammates. This body of work is one that many of us would be proud of.
