Inductee: Tim Yaeger

While Tim has been a fantastic teammate, an excellent sportsman on the field, and is always among the first to volunteer for league events, his Induction is truly about his incredible skill and domination as a pitcher - a pitcher in the BSL's upper division for over 10 years! He is a primary reason why his teams have been so successful for so many years here in Boston and on the national level.

Tournament appearances: Tim has been to at least 25 tournaments in his career ... far too many to list here. He has been champion several times, and 'top 3' many others. He is always among the first to commit to a tournament, and has played infield, pitcher and catcher very well every time.
BSL Team Participation Beyond the BSL:
Boston Media League: 4 years with Club Café Crew, Champion '06/'08; 2nd place '05/'07
Dorchester League: '04-'09 with Club Café Crew & Alley Gators, Champion '07, 2nd place several times
Tim has many good qualities as a softball player. He is scrappy and gives great hustle. He is an excellent defender, especially at the pitcher's mound. While not blessed with size and power, Tim contributes his fair share on offense. The reason Tim Yaeger is in the BSL Hall Of Fame is that he is one of the top pitchers this league has ever seen pitch in 2010, his team allowed an average of 13 runs -- what more proof do we need of his dominance?
Other teams must HATE to bat against him ... he gets "in their heads" before throwing the first pitch. So while Tim has been a fantastic teammate, an excellent sportsman on the field, and is always among the first to volunteer for league events, his Induction is truly about his incredible skill and domination as a pitcher - a pitcher in the BSL's upper division for over 10 years! Teams are RELIEVED when they see another pitcher reporting to the mound, knowing they won’t have to face Timmy's wizardry on the mound!
There are very few players in the BSL more committed to playing softball than Tim. He truly loves the game of softball, and is a huge element of the success of his teams year after year. He is a gentleman on and off the field, and is always there to support his fellow teammates. There are very few pitchers in the BSL in the same class as Tim, and he is among the top pitchers nationally. Tim contributed in a huge way to The Crew's 2008 World Series Championship in Seattle, and has also demonstrated his versatility by playing second base and third base when needed. He is also humble enough to catch when another pitcher is on the mound. Although Tim has never been a power hitter, his on base percentage are among the best on the team, and his base running skills ensure he always gets the maximum rewards in any base running situation.
Tim is one of the best pitchers the BSL has ever seen, and is a primary reason why his teams, especially the Jackhammers/Crew, have been so successful for so many years here in Boston and on the national level.
