Paul has been an integral part of the BSL since his first involvement in 1987. He has always demonstrated tremendous sportsmanship and leadership. Perhaps best known for his wry sense of humor, Paul has brought that rare mix of competitiveness and levity to his participation in the league. An ultimate team player, Paul's BSL career success was ironically not in his role as a player. Paul specialized in the most thankless jobs the BSL can ask of its members: Assistant Commissioner, Umpire in Chief, team manager. Throw in 3 years as an officer of NAGAAA and it's clear that Paul paid his dues. Everyone knows the quality and thoroughness that Paul brought to each of those tasks. Within the BSL, as with everything else, Paul is one of those rare people you know you can trust to do a job right, and thus he is always a "go-to" guy. Paul has served in whatever role the league has asked or needed and has set a tone of professionalism and dedication.

Beyond the playing fields, Paul has been involved in innumerable league meetings, fundraisers, and other events. Always willing to help in whatever way he can, he has volunteered for many "behind the scenes" roles in promoting the BSL, both on the local and national level. He has been a fixture as an umpire in many national tournaments, including all of the Minuteman Classics, the tournament that Boston traditionally hosted each year.

Paul attended law school, graduated, and passed the Massachusetts bar all while working full time in a very demanding career. But despite these extraordinary time commitments, Paul still found time to umpire in our league and volunteer for various civic and community causes.

In short, Paul epitomizes the spirit and character of the best that the BSL has to offer. He is a role model and a fine ambassador in, and for, our league!
